A photograph identifies an arrest episode but does not prove release. Likewise, a court order establishes legal authority, not the exact time the jail completed processing. Use the dated jail event for physical release and the docket for its legal context.

The 72-hour choice is useful after a weekend or when the date is uncertain, though the county does not promise special weekend publication rules. No longer release-only public archive was located. IDOC Search for LaSalle Releases
The Illinois Department of Corrections search covers Sheridan Correctional Center and other IDOC prisons. It does not cover a jail-only stay. Search by IDOC number when known, because it is more precise than a name. The operational search also supports last name and birth date.

A public profile may show Offender Status, Location, Admission Date, Parole Date, Projected Discharge Date, photographs, and sentence rows. Status PAROLE with a past Parole Date supports prison exit with continuing supervision. Projected Discharge Date is generally the expected end of IDOC control, not the prison gate-out date. Review every sentence row because one discharged sentence does not prove that all terms ended.

Verify LaSalle Release Supervision
Probation and parole are not interchangeable. LaSalle County Court Services administers probation ordered in a circuit case. IDOC's Parole Division supervises parole and mandatory supervised release, while the Prisoner Review Board sets conditions and handles certain hearings and revocations. A state Parole Date marks prison exit, not final discharge.

Offender registries answer only a narrow question after release. LaSalle OffenderWatch and the separate Illinois State Police registries apply to people with a qualifying registration duty. A registry match does not establish the jail release date, while no match says nothing about someone outside those statutory categories.
Support After LaSalle County Release
The LaSalle County Jail resources page links local recovery supports, while Perfectly Flawed lists peer support and a weekday drop-in location in La Salle. Sheridan's treatment model separately coordinates pre-release staffing with parole agents. These services form a locally specific, voluntary support network.
Support participation is not proof of release, parole, probation, or discharge. Confirm custody through the jail, IDOC, court, or supervising authority. Use support services for their stated purpose rather than as identity or status records.
Documents After Sheridan Release
IDOC's FY2025 report states that Sheridan assisted with Social Security cards, birth certificates, state identification, and Social Security applications. This document-restoration work can help people preparing to leave state custody. It does not describe the release process at LaSalle County Jail.
A restored identity document also does not prove the date or type of release. Use the IDOC profile, archive response, or agency record for the prison event. Keep the role of support documents separate from custody evidence.

LaSalle County Jail and Sheridan Correctional Center create different trails. The 2024 jail inspection lists construction in 2002, rated capacity of 306, an inspection-day population of 64, and 54 full-time jail-duty staff. The county jail page states capacity 305. Those dated sources disagree by one, so the difference should remain visible rather than being forced into one figure.
Sheridan began as a juvenile facility in 1941, converted to adult custody in 1973, closed in 2002, and reopened in 2004. It is an IDOC state prison. A release from Sheridan is traced through IDOC status, parole or MSR fields, PRB records where applicable, and an archive request after the live profile disappears. A LaSalle County Jail departure is traced through iSOMS, the court docket, and the jail record.
Other LaSalle Release Systems
No official federal prison or dedicated ICE detention facility was identified in LaSalle County. When federal custody applies, search the BOP locator by register number or name. A BOP release date or “not in BOP custody” statement addresses federal Bureau of Prisons custody only.
