Illinois VINELink Coverage in LaSalle County
Illinois VINELink is a free status and event-notification service. Its Person search can return a record supplied by a participating custody agency. It is useful when the goal is to watch one person rather than browse everyone in a rolling release window. The record should be read as a report from the named source agency, not as a statewide court judgment or a certified jail document.
The live Illinois selector controls coverage. The research found no static official roster proving that every LaSalle County municipal lockup or local agency sends data to VINE. Users should select the likely source and inspect the current choices. LaSalle County Jail information may also be checked through the county's iSOMS tools and records office. Illinois prison information belongs to IDOC. VINELink does not replace either authority.
Search One LaSalle County Inmate
Begin with enough identity detail to separate people who share a name. The Illinois entry offers a Person search, then lets the user narrow and open the most plausible agency record. Do not assume the first result is the right person.
- Open the official Illinois VINELink entry and choose the Person search.
- Enter the last name. Add the first name or an available identifier to narrow the results.
- Review source agencies and choose the agency that fits the known custody path.
- Open the matching record and compare identity details before reading the event.
- Record the status, location or source, dates, and update wording exactly as displayed.
- Recheck the source agency after an alert or material status change.
For a person linked to the county jail, compare the result with the LaSalle iSOMS current or recent-event views and the court docket. For someone sentenced to state prison, compare it with the IDOC public profile. The site's LaSalle County released-inmate search guide explains how those documentary sources fit together.
Note: A current-custody roster answers who is held now; it is not a historical list of people who left custody.
What a VINELink Release Result Shows
Labels can change with the source and current interface, so copy what the record says instead of translating it into a stronger legal conclusion. These are the verified categories to review.
| Field or control | What it can establish |
|---|---|
| Name or identifier | Helps distinguish the intended subject from a same-name result. |
| Source agency | Identifies the agency that reported the custody event to VINE. |
| Custody status | States the latest reported condition, subject to agency timing and wording. |
| Location or source | Shows the reported institution or agency context, not every possible hold. |
| Dates and update information | Shows when an event or record was reported as the interface labels it. |
| Notification choices | Lists events and delivery methods currently offered for that record. |
A released label reflects the last event supplied by that agency. For LaSalle County Jail, it may follow pretrial release, time served, dismissal, transfer, or another disposition. VINELink alone may not distinguish those meanings. For IDOC, leaving prison can mean parole or mandatory supervised release, while final discharge comes later. A status result therefore needs the authority-specific record behind it.
Read County and State Events Differently
LaSalle County has two adult systems that can appear in a local search, but they do not produce the same record. The LaSalle County Jail is operated by the Sheriff's Office and holds county detainees. Sheridan Correctional Center is an IDOC state prison located in the county. Geography does not turn a Sheridan release into a county-jail release.
County jail event
Check iSOMS, the court order, and a jail FOIA request. A transfer is not necessarily community release.
IDOC prison event
Check status, Parole Date, Projected Discharge Date, location, and sentence rows in the IDOC profile.
Federal event
Use the Bureau of Prisons locator or the responsible federal authority. VINELink is not a BOP release archive.
A court probation record is also outside the custody-notification function. Likewise, registry duties are separate from custody. A person's presence or absence in a registry neither proves nor disproves a jail release.
Register LaSalle County Release Alerts
Registration should be completed on the correct person record before the expected event when possible. Available event types and delivery channels come from the live record. Select only what the interface currently offers.
- Open the verified person record and select the notification option.
- Choose the release or custody events offered for that source.
- Select phone, text, email, or app delivery when available.
- Enter the destination and complete the requested verification.
- For telephone alerts, create the requested four-digit PIN.
- When an automated call arrives, enter that PIN to acknowledge the message.
- After any alert, reopen the record and contact the reporting agency.
The four-digit PIN is chosen by the registrant. It is not an IDOC number, booking number, case number, or password for an agency record. Account-based delivery may also ask the user to verify an email address or text destination. Keep contact details current so a valid alert is not lost.
Note: Notification registration watches later reports; it does not certify that the source agency will send every possible event without delay.
LaSalle VINELink Screens in Context
The official VINELink landing page shows the Illinois selection and Person-search route used to begin a one-person lookup.

This screen is the entry point only; the source agency and identity still must be checked in the selected result.
The Illinois person-search view demonstrates the result workflow and the route to notification registration.

The visible labels should be transcribed as shown and then compared with the reporting agency's own record.
LaSalle Alerts Need Local Documents
Illinois VINELink supplies event-driven alerts. LaSalle iSOMS, the jail record, and the Circuit Clerk docket provide local documentary context. This layered method is distinctive because no static participation list proves every local lockup feeds VINE. Check the live selector first, then use the system that created the event.
For a county-jail event, the official iSOMS portal has combined intake and release views for the last 24 and 72 hours. Those pages may require a human-verification step, and a listed item still needs to be separated as an intake or release. For durable proof, ask the jail FOIA officer for the booking and release record tied to the named person and date range. The court docket can establish the legal order, but may not show the exact physical exit time.
For an IDOC event, use the statewide offender search. A supervised profile may remain public after prison exit and show PAROLE, a Parole Date, and a Projected Discharge Date. After final completion, IDOC says the live profile may disappear. The archive or FOIA route then becomes necessary. Each source answers a different question, so their dates should not be collapsed into one generic release date.
Confirm a LaSalle County Release
After a VINELink alert, reopen the record to check whether the display changed. Then contact or search the named authority. For LaSalle County Jail, compare the recent-event portal, the criminal case order, and the jail release record. For Sheridan or another Illinois prison, use the IDOC profile and, where relevant, Illinois Prisoner Review Board material.
Do not treat a transfer alert as proof of release to the community. Do not treat an IDOC Parole Date as the final end of state control. Do not treat a Projected Discharge Date as the day the person walked out of prison. Also, a federal BOP result belongs to federal custody and says nothing by itself about an Illinois or county hold.
If records conflict, preserve the exact labels and update times. A lagged alert may still be useful, but the office that created the underlying record is best placed to explain its meaning.
